VH1 Executive Vice President and General Manager Tom Calderone found that his path to success started at Buffalo State.

Calderone, a 1986 Buffalo State grad, has such a soft spot for his alma mater that he often sets up VH1 internships for Buffalo State communications students and has hired more than a dozen alumni to work at VH1, sister video music channel MTV, and other cable outlets in the MTV Networks Group.

“Buffalo State is where I grew into the person I am,” Calderone said in a recent phone interview from his New York City office. “It helped me hone the skill sets I used to get into this industry. Now I like to give back and it’s important to me to give back.”
